Sharmin Akter
Sharmin Akter is a chemistry graduate passionate about research, with strong interests in drug design, computational chemistry, and bioinformatics. She completed her B.Sc. (Honours) in Chemistry from the University of Chittagong and is currently pursuing her M.Sc. in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry at the University of Dhaka, where she is working on her Master’s thesis.
She has practical experience in both computational and experimental research, including a three-month research internship on nanoparticle synthesis at the Biomaterial Research Lab, University of Chittagong. Sharmin also completed a bioinformatics course at the Plasma Cell Research Centre (PCRC). Her professional background includes roles as a science writer at CoLab Bioscience, campus ambassador at BioPC, research assistant at the Cloud Laboratory for Chemoinformatics (CLC), and content writer for several organizations.
Sharmin aspires to pursue a fully funded PhD soon, aiming to deepen her expertise in computational approaches to drug discovery and contribute to impactful scientific research. She is committed to balancing her professional goals with her personal values, practicing her faith with modesty, and building a meaningful research career with global impact.
